Description
Ara as fem!Thor from Thor: The Dark World
Photography by WonWon, editing by Siffy
Debuted at D*C 2013
My fem!Thor for D*C 2013. The chest armor, gauntlets, and leg greaves are all made from Worbla. I took liberties with the chest armor, trying to follow the armor Thor wears in Dark World but making it more feminine (while still looking like functional armor rather than some of the more sexualized armor I've seen for Lady Thor). The skirt was made to look like the groin flap thing he wears in the new movie - I cut/dyed/sewed it all together from veg tanned leather- it was much cooler than wearing pants in the Georgia heat, plus added to the feminine look while still paying homage to Thor: The Dark World. The cape is the same one I used in 2012 (originally sewn by Siffy), and the boots are from eBay. The wig is the lace front Matilda in dark ash blonde from Arda wigs. Finally, I made the hammer using pink foam board, a wooden dowel, resin, spackle, etc. The handle is covered with leather (cut/dyed by me), and the silver decor on it is Worbla and instamorph beads.
Detailed WIPs of this are on our FB page and my Tumblr.
